In the year 2015, Lakshya Foundation embarked on a mission to bring new life to education in Nambarwadi, a remote tribal village nestled in the heart of Ambernath Taluka. The condition of the pre-primary and primary schools was dire, with the pre-primary school particularly grim and uninspiring. Recognizing the need to provide a conducive and vibrant learning environment, Lakshya Foundation undertook the revitalization of these schools, infusing them with fresh energy.
The transformation was remarkable. The pre-primary school, once disheartening to behold, received a vibrant makeover with theme painting that turned its walls into canvases of inspiration. The aim was not only to provide education but also to nurture creativity and a love for learning. Moreover, recognizing the fundamental importance of hygiene and sanitation, Lakshya Foundation, in collaboration with the generous support of Miss Helena from Finland, constructed separate toilets for boys and girls in the pre-primary school. This addition ensured that children had access to essential facilities that contribute to their overall well-being and dignity.
Miss Helena’s impact went beyond infrastructure. She visited Nambarwadi herself, engaging with the children in joyous play and fostering a connection that transcended borders. Impressed by the work of Lakshya Foundation, she extended her heartfelt appreciation and best wishes, affirming the value of collective efforts in transforming lives.
The impact of this project extended far beyond the physical changes. The village witnessed a renewed enthusiasm for education among its young residents. The revitalized schools became symbols of hope and aspiration, encouraging children to attend regularly and engage wholeheartedly in their studies. The sense of pride and ownership instilled by the transformation spread throughout the community, fostering a collective commitment to the betterment of the village as a whole.
Lakshya Foundation’s endeavors in Nambarwadi exemplify our commitment to holistic education and community welfare. By uplifting the physical spaces where education takes place, we strive to uplift the spirits and aspirations of every child in Nambarwadi, nurturing the leaders and thinkers of tomorrow.
